Wildlife-Vehicle Collision Hotspot

The Oregon Department of Transportation collects animal collision data across the state. This map displays the density of wildlife vehicle collisions for all Oregon highways, show hotspots across the state. The map also displays GPS collaring data collected from 2006-2012 for mule deer in Central Oregon, highlighting areas with a high probability of use during migration.

Deer and Elk in the Project Area

This map displays collision densities, reported wildlife-vehicle collision incidents, and GPS collaring data for deer and elk along Highway 20 between Bend and Suttle Lake. The GPS collaring data (green and purple polygons) displays deer and elk activity within 4 miles of the highway.

Potential Locations for Wildlife crossing

This map displays the eleven potential locations for wildlife crossing structures along the 35-mile corridor between Bend and Suttle Lake. The Bend to Suttle Lake Wildlife Passage Initiative selected four sites as the top priority for construction.
